2nd Annual Let's Talk Prediabetes FREE Online Event

Join us for the 2nd annual Let’s Talk Prediabetes online event on Tuesday, November 30th from 5:30pm-7pm. We will be hosting a live Q & A with local health care practitioners in collaboration with KIXE, Shasta Community Health Center, Shasta Family YMCA, Mercy Medical Center, Shingletown Medical Center and Hill Country Clinic.
You will also have the opportunity to view clips from the exciting series “Food Over 50”. This series is for maturing adults, boomers and seniors who recognize the challenges of aging and want to stay healthy, fit and active, plus enjoy delicious food all along the way! Topic: The burden of prediabetes and diabetes epidemics will continue to grow. In 2017-2018, 18% of Shasta County adults were diagnosed with diabetes and 20% with prediabetes. Evidence-based strategies for diabetes prevention exist; yet they are underutilized by patients and under recommended by providers. This talk will provide key information on diabetes prevention strategies.
